Mphowabadimo says she is carrying her gift with grace seven years after starting her journey to become a sangoma.

The Big Brother Mzansi season 3 winner took to her Instagram timeline to reflect as she navigates life as a traditional healer.

“Today marks my seventh year anniversary edlozini and still on this journey and not even halfway. I will never exchange my gift for anything because I am because of my gift. Ngathwasa ngimcane and I went through initiation thinking I'm doing this just [for] my family, but I didn’t realise the reasons were bigger than me,” she said

“After I came back from initiation, I sunk into depression — angry at my ancestors for stealing my youth, trying to find myself and also heal from the abuse iphehlo brought because the journey to self-discovery is not easy. When it finally hit, I then humbled myself and accepted my gift and gave my ancestors permission to use me.”

In an interview on DJ Sbu's podcast The Hustler's Corner, Mphowabadimo said she suffered from depression after she went through hardships while at initiation school.

“So I came back on July 23 2016 and that is when I went into depression, because at home they didn't know what I had experienced and I also didn't know how I was going to tell them.”

The media personality recently gave birth to her baby boy. Reflecting on how that changed her life, she said she was no longer interested in going clubbing any more.

“Time flies. Seeing both of my boys together, my heart just melts. That's the beauty of being a mom. You watch your children grow each day, though I still need to go through the terrible twos and fours. I am glad I'm done. I don't go out partying. That phase of my life is gone,” she said.
