Love & Hip Hop South Africa bagged the Best International Show award at the 12th annual National Reality TV Awards 2023. 

The awards took place on July 31 at Porchester Hall in London. 

Speaking about the achievement and honour in a statement shared with TshisaLIVE, Monde Twala, senior vice-president and general manager for Paramount Africa and lead for BET International markets, expressed gratitude and excitement.

“This recognition reaffirms our commitment to showcasing the rich tapestry of South African hip hop and youth entertainment culture across the continent. We are inspired and will continue to leverage the power of Paramount global formats to showcase and deliver compelling and entertaining content for our key markets.”

The reality show premiered on February 27. 

The American franchise known for showcasing hip hop stars juggling their careers, relationships and family dynamics featured DJ Speedsta, singer J Molley, rappers Da L.E.S, Gigi Lamayne, Money Badoo, Yanga Chief, Shane Eagle and Fifi Cooper.

“The state of South African hip hop is beautiful and this platform will allow me to share my knowledge on the industry,” Da L.E.S said.

“We have a very rich African hip hop culture and I am looking forward to offering my space and showing the trials and tribulations I've been through in the industry. Love & Hip Hop SA is the best place to do it.”
