Rapper Fifi Cooper said she knew she was going to be cast on Love and Hip Hop SA.

In a recent interview with Slikour on SlikourOnLife she said she had always wanted to be on the reality show.

The reality show which airs on MTV Africa features DJ Speedsta, singer J Molley, rappers Da L.E.S, Gigi Lamayne, Money Badoo, Yanga Chief, Shane Eagle and Fifi Cooper.

“They called me, I think around last August,” she said.

“They asked me to come through to the studio to you young interview, and I was like, let me try it out because I believe everything happens for a reason and God’s timing is perfect for me.”

She said she knew she would be cast for the SA version of the US show.

“When they gave me that call, I knew I was gonna be part of the cast because there’s definitely something different that I’m bringing to the industry as a whole. Been Motswako First Lady for like 15 years. It’s a lot you know.”

“So it was quite weird but I was super excited because I’ve always been a fan of Love And Hip Hop,” she said.

Speaking at the launch of Love and Hip Hop SA at Paramount Africa's rooftop last month, she said she understood she would not always be in her prime.

“I've never felt like I left. I always knew there would be challenges, and there's so many of us that we can't all shine at the same time because your time is your time,” she said.

Speaking at the launch of the reality TV show, rapper Da L.E.S touched on what being part of the cast meant.

“The state of South African hip hop is beautiful and this platform will allow me to share my knowledge on the industry,” Da L.E.S said.

“We have a very rich African hip hop culture and I am looking forward to offering my space and showing the trials and tribulations I've been through in the industry. Love and Hip Hop SA is the best place to do it.”
