Losing honourably may pass off well in military circles. For the Sharks, though, it is becoming a well-worn excuse which they hide behind in a Currie Cup campaign that has not moved out of first gear. Statistically, their 26-18 loss to the Golden Lions at Ellis Park looks like a close contest, where the Sharks were in the game for long periods.The Lions were 26-6 up and had long sealed the result before the Sharks launched their belated fightback.The Free State Cheetahs stole a march on the Sharks with their 44-24 win against the Griquas in Bloemfontein and they now have a decisive four-point lead over Gary Gold's side.
