What are TimesLIVE, TshisaLIVE, The Times and the Sunday Times?
The Sunday Times is South Africa’s top-selling Sunday paper, with exclusive and in-depth coverage of general news, politics, lifestyle and much more. The Times, its daily edition published from Monday to Friday, is a short, sharp round-up of local and international news.
The TimesLIVE website – South Africa’s second-biggest news website – includes a devoted section for the Sunday Times website and publishes all content from these two publications along with digital-first breaking news, opinions and analysis throughout the day, seven days a week.
TshisaLIVE is the title of the TimesLIVE entertainment section, which includes South Africa’s hottest celebrity news and gossip.
All TimesLIVE content is free to read, but most of the Sunday Times content is reserved for subscribers. However, for a limited period after the launch of the redesigned TimesLIVE website, even Sunday Times content will be free to read.
How do I register on the TimesLIVE or Sunday Times website?
It’s free, quick and easy. Click on the “Register” button at the top of the website and follow the instructions. First you'll receive a short email to verify your email address – it's important to click on the link in that email. At the end of the registration process, you’ll receive a second email to welcome you to TimesLIVE (including the Sunday Times).
On your mobile phone, click on the menu bar at the top right and you’ll see the “Sign in” and “Register” options.
Why should I register on TimesLIVE or the Sunday Times?
Registration is free. Once you’ve registered, you can comment on our articles and sign up for any from a range of useful email newsletters. You can also then manage your own newsletter subscriptions.
How do I sign in and out on these websites?
To sign in, click on the “Sign in” button at the top of the website and enter your details. Once you’ve signed in, your name and surname will appear at the top of the site. To log out, click on the “Logout” button at the top of the site.
If you’re on your mobile phone, click on the menu bar at the top right and choose the “Sign in” option at the top of the list that appears. To sign out, click on the menu bar again and click on “Log out”.
When you sign in on TimesLIVE or the Sunday Times, you’ll automatically be signed in on both of these – as well as on Tiso Blackstar Group’s BusinessLIVE website (which includes Business Day, the Financial Mail and the Rand Daily Mail).
I can't register or log in. Who do I contact?

I have registered but now I can’t sign in. What do I do?
Check that you’re entering the same email address that you used to register, and that you’ve got the correct password (see below how to reset your password).

I want to change my password. What do I do?
First, sign out of TimesLIVE or the Sunday Times. Then sign on again but when you’re prompted to enter your details, click on “Forgot your password?” and we’ll send you an email with a link that will allow you to enter a new one.
I already subscribe to the print edition of the Sunday Times. Do I get free access to the Sunday Times website?
Yes, you do. All Sunday Times print subscribers get access to our website. (All TimesLIVE content is free to read, but most of the Sunday Times content is reserved for our subscribers.)
To gain access, please register online (see above for details) using the same email address you supplied when subscribing to the print edition. That allows us to link your subscription correctly.
If you’ve already registered online using a different email address, you can either register again with your other email address, which will automatically pick up your print subscription, or contact our call centre at Tel: 0860 52 52 00 or email@example.com to change your print subscription details to match your online registration.
Are you a corporate subscriber receiving your newspaper at the office?
Please contact our call centre at Tel: 0860 52 52 00 or firstname.lastname@example.org so we can help you link your TimesLIVE/Sunday Times website account to your corporate subscription.
How do I subscribe to the Sunday Times online?
We’ll soon launch our online subscription pages. For a limited period after the launch of our redesigned TimesLIVE and Sunday Times website, all Sunday Times content will also be free to read.

Why should I subscribe to the Sunday Times?

How do I change my name, surname or email address on the TimesLIVE or Sunday Times website?
Once you’ve registered and signed in, your name and surname will appear at the top right of the website. Hover the mouse over your name and click the “Profile” button. (On your mobile phone, click on the menu bar at the top right to find the “Profile” option.)
On your profile, you can edit your name and surname or manage your email newsletter subscriptions.
Unfortunately you cannot change your email address via your profile page. If you’re a registered user but haven’t subscribed, please sign out and register again using your new email address.
If you’ve already subscribed to the Sunday Times, please sign out and register again using your new email address. Then contact our call centre at Tel: 0860 52 52 00 or email@example.com to connect your subscription to your new account.
How do reader comments on TimesLIVE/Sunday Times articles work?
Readers who have registered and signed in on TimesLIVE (and therefore the Sunday Times) can use the comment facility below our articles where it has been made available. These comments are managed via a reliable service called Disqus that is used on many other websites too.
Your TimesLIVE Disqus profile is created when you register on our website. It does not pick up details from any previous Disqus profiles you might have. Your name and surname will be displayed with all your comments.
By using our comments facility, you agree to the rules contained in our TimesLIVE and Sunday Times comment moderation policy.
What are cookies and why do I need them to use TimesLIVE?

How do I sign up for TimesLIVE and Sunday Times email newsletters?
When you register at no cost on the TimesLIVE website, you’ll be asked whether you’d like to receive any of our email newsletters. Once you’ve registered, you can also manage your newsletter subscriptions via your user profile – after signing in, hover over your name at the top right of the website and click on the “Profile” button.
I've signed up for a TimesLIVE or Sunday Times email newsletter but it has not arrived in my inbox. What do I do?
Check your junk mail or rejected mail folder in case your mail server rejected the newsletter. If that is what happened, try to adjust your mail settings. If you haven't received it at all, email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
How do I unsubscribe from the TimesLIVE or Sunday Times email newsletter?
Click on the “Unsubscribe” link at the bottom of the newsletter you’ve received in your inbox, or sign in on the TimesLIVE website and update your newsletter subscriptions list via your user profile – hover over your name at the top right of the website and click on the “Profile” button.
Is there a TimesLIVE or Sunday Times app?

How do I submit an opinion piece?
We do not publish opinion pieces already sent to other newspapers. Submitting an uncommissioned opinion piece is no guarantee that it will be published and we reserve the right to edit all opinion pieces. Email your submission to Jan Jan Joubert on email@example.com.
How do I submit a press release or story suggestion?
Email your press release or story idea to the Sunday Times at firstname.lastname@example.org or to The Times at email@example.com. It will then be evaluated by our news desk. (We don’t publish press releases but they are considered for use in news reports or features.)
How do I report an error on the TimesLIVE or Sunday Times website?
