I have been struggling to understand why the Sunday Times thought it appropriate to interview Delené Yolanda Fordham.

What is unique about her wanton disobedience that warrants a large article from her perspective? And all she could do was wallow in self-pity. - Rutendo Matinyarare, Montgomery Park

She should stop feeding us sob stories about her father's death, as we all have burdens we carry.

Those burdens do not warrant us being arrogant towards others, especially towards enforcers of the law.

She needs God to console her for her loss and to calm her down, too. - Pelo, by e-mail

She talks about rights. Well, lady, you lost your rights the minute you decided to break the law. I don't like our police service but you went too far, depression or not. - Gadi, Cape Town

It's time something serious is done about the abusive behaviour our metro police have towards whoever they decide to pick on.

It's not Delené Fordham who should be punished; these metro police should be charged and locked up. They should not even be on the force. Clearly, they have not had proper training. - V eronica, by e-mail

Our blobs of fat in uniform are a farce. It's a pity we cannot send them away when the World Cup visitors arrive. - New South African
