The twitterati had their own ways of answering the issue however.

@PigSpotter@DebonairsPizza@QuintonCambier Went off Debonairs a decade ago. About when they added their 'special sauce' to every pizza

According to a complaint on HelloPeter, the Jabulani branch also had six legged problems earlier this year.
"Went to buy a pizza cockroaches were crawling on board above kitchen area and on the fridges really worrying for food franchise pest control should be a priority," valentia87 said in March.
"We bought a pizza at Debonair pizza in Mthatha near the circle, by the taxi rank. When I got home I bit into a slice and noticed that the block of meat on the pizza had flies eggs on it so I stopped eating and opened the whole slice of pizza up and the last layer( triple decker) I found more flies eggs on the mince meat too. I took photos in case," Taliah123 wrote, also in March, after eating at the Mthatha branch.
According to bee_bee eating a Field street Durban Debonair's Pizza can be a hairy experience.
"I ordered a Real deal Triple decker yesterday and thank *** I always check on the inside of the stacks or rather I always like to taste the filling first before cutting and eating the Pizza. On the pizza base below I found a strand of someone's hair and I took a picture of it."
Another complaint about the Retail Crossing branch objected to the staff their licking their fingers while handling the pizzas.
"We went to your retail crossing branch last night and as we sat outside in the car looking through the window, we see how your employees lick their fingers of after touching the pizza and then working on the next pizza again," Belindab618 wrote in June.
The Fast Food franchise responded to all four reports with the following:
"Thank you very much for taking the time to report your experience with our Jabulani branch. Your comments have been received by our Customer Care and have been escalated to the store and the area manager. We would like to confirm that a representative of the store as well as our Customer Care will be in contact with you directly to ensure that the matter is resolved to your satisfaction.
"Please don't hesitate to contact our Customer Care Line directly in future, should you have any further queries or comments."
