The weekend of 28-29 October promises to be alive with roaring and skidding when drift cars permeate the Boksburg silence. The SupaDrift Series 07 Finals Event returns to the illustrious Carnival City Casino and Entertainment World and it certainly promises to be a humdinger of an event. The 2016 Championship is a closely contested event and much of that will be decided upon during the weekends battling. "It sets a precedent for next season and makes for close tandems and insane driving leading up to the final prize giving," says Mikey Skelton, XS Promotions Marketing Director and Co-Founder of the SupaDrift Series.

Drivers like Achilles Tyres sponsored Jim McFarlane will certainly bring the challenge to the current Series leader Shane Gutzeit, A Dunlop tyre man, who has much to prove in this final round for 2016. Shane says that he has a massive respect for his competitors and knows he has to compete and make it count on the blacktop on the 29th.

Other drivers like Eric van Eyssen, who stand a chance to be ‘Rookie of the year’ explains, "No-one can afford to rest, it’s the most competitive drift season yet and anything can happen; the current track layouts are so challenging and therefore we will have to be on point to impress the judges and keep the competition at bay. But when you get close to other competitors; anything can happen!," says Eric attending to his Nissan S14 in preparation for the upcoming tar-scarring finals.

"When it comes to a show-off event regards burning tyres, this is it," says series partner, Unite Securities owner, Donovan Dauth, "We for one love to demonstrate what we are capable of when subjected to extreme situations as a security company; and with drifting, there are similar accounts of extreme situations and volatility, it’s a motorsport with serious entertainment value!"
