A second man was arrested for allegedly beating a man to death with stones and iron rods in Soweto, police said.

Warrant Officer Kay Makhubela said the second suspect was arrested in the late afternoon on Monday.

“All the suspects are now behind bars,” he said.

Earlier on Monday a 24-year-old man was arrested for the murder.

The man who was killed was walking home with a friend in the early hours of Monday in Zola when two men attacked them.

The friend escaped but the other was beaten to death.

The two men were expected to appear in the Protea Magistrate’s

Court on Wednesday.
