Zuma appoints high court judges

President Jacob Zuma has appointed judges to the Supreme Court of Appeal, Competition Appeal Court, the Electoral Court and the various divisions of the High Courts

Judges are:

- Malcolm John David Wallis as a Judge of the Supreme Court of Appeal, with effect from 1 June 2011

- Acting Justice Yvonne Thokozile Mbatha as a Judge of the KwaZulu-Natal High Courts, Pietermaritzburg and Durban with immediate effect

- Advocate Johan Andries Ploos Van Amstel SC as a Judge of the KwaZulu-Natal High Courts, Pietermaritzburg and Durban with immediate effect

- Acting Justice Narandran Jody Kollapen as a Judge of the North Gauteng High Court, Pretoria, with immediate effect

- Advocate Johannes Wynand Louw SC as a Judge of the North Gauteng High Court, Pretoria, with immediate effect

- Ndawoyakhe Depoleon Tshabalala as a Judge of the South Gauteng High Court, Johannesburg with effect from 25 July 2011

- Advocate Sharise Erica Weiner SC as a Judge of the South Gauteng High Court, Johannesburg with effect from 25 July 2011

- Acting Justice Mathebe Violet Phatshoane as a Judge of the Northern Cape High Court, Kimberley with immediate effect

- Acting Justice Robert Cecil Alfred Henney as a Judge of the Western Cape High Court, Cape Town with immediate effect

On the advice of the Judicial Service Commission, Zuma also appointed Justice Dumisani Hamilton Zondi as a Judge of the Competition Appeal Court for a period of ten years and advocate Mhlaliseni Michael Mthembu as a member of the Electoral Court with immediate effect for a period of six years.
