Court order helps mom get daughter out of circumcision school

A Limpopo woman obtained a court order to get her 12-year-old daughter out of a circumcision school, police said.

She received a letter of demand from the Moutse Magistrate's Court in Dennilton on Monday, Constable Lethunya Mmuroa said.

The girl and her friend went to the co-ed school, in Driefontein village near Marble hall, without her mother's permission on Friday.

"Police accompanied [the woman] to take her child. The child was removed and transported to Philadelphia hospital without any visible injuries."
