The blonde ambition of Oscar's dad

Henke and Oscar Pistorius might have little to do with each other these days but appear to have some things in common.

A photograph from the Times Media Group archives shows that Henke also had a soft spot for blonde models.

In a 1977 picture he is seen with former Miss World Anneline Kriel and the accompanying story says they are "going steady".

There are similarities, too, in the men's behaviour. The story says Henke "took [Kriel's] arm possessively ".

Oscar's possessiveness has emerged during his trial.

And the father and son share a history of careless gun use. Beeld reported that Henke shot himself in the groin while cleaning his pistol. Oscar is accused of discharging a firearm in a packed restaurant.
