Zapiro's aim is not quite true

The cartoon by Zapiro in The Times yesterday was disingenuous and deliberately misleading.

Where must Gaza's civilians take cover, the cartoon asked? In the kilometres of underground concrete tunnels Hamas has built using Israeli and other aid money sent to build infrastructure.

The Israeli army does what no army in history has ever done. It warns civilians they are going to be in the firing line. Why does Israel do this? Because Israel knows it is firing at rocket installations placed deliberately, by Hamas, among Gaza's civilians.

Zapiro's anti-Israel stance is well known. It is enough now.

Either he should make an attempt to be an even-handed political cartoonist, or perhaps it is time for him to choose another whipping boy - there are lots out there.
