I read the article "Nurses sick of prejudice" (yesterday) with disbelief.
My sister, who is South African by birth and is a qualified (enrolled) nurse, came back from the UK in 2010, but she is still not employed as a nurse.
She earns a living as a domestic worker.
I am aware she is not the only South African who has worked overseas and is now battling to find a job in his or her chosen field.
Foreigners claim they cannot find jobs as nurses because of xenophobia. Well, what is the reason for my sister not getting work as a nurse?
Did anyone conduct research on how many qualified South African nurses are sitting at home not working or doing other jobs before writing the article?
