Two police officers are expected to appear in the Klerksdorp Magistrate's Court for allegedly selling suspected stolen goods, North West police said.

The two officers who work at the Klerksdorp auxiliary garage -- which services the SA Police Service's vehicles -- allegedly sold rims and tyres from the garage to a member of the public for R1200, Brigadier Thulani Ngubane said.

The man had been arrested earlier in the week for being in possession of stolen items.

"The police arrested a suspect on information received from informers regarding stolen vehicle rims and tyres.

"After an investigation was conducted the suspect informed the police that he bought the goods from the two employees of the [SAPS] working at the Klerksdorp auxiliary garage," Ngubane said.

The two officers allegedly took three tyres, each with a rim, to a house in Ellaton. They were arrested on Tuesday.
