Kirsten off to the UK

Former Proteas coach Gary Kirsten has been tapped to work with the England Lions in a consultancy role, the England and Wales Cricket Board announced yesterday. Kirsten, who won the 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup with India, also helmed South Africa's memorable away series wins against England, and then Australia, in 2012. He left the setup in July 2013 and took up the head coach position at the IPL franchise Delhi Daredevils.He will join the Lions before their ODI series against Pakistan 'A' in the United Arab Emirates in January. Joining Kirsten will be former New Zealand spinner Daniel Vettori, also as a consultant.England Lions coach Andy Flower said: "Being able to call on Gary Kirsten and Daniel Vettori to support the delivery of the programme and work with the players represents a big part of this objective."..
