Hawks called into catch cop killers after constable strangled‚ 14 bullets fired at colonel

A Hawks task team that specialises in probing the killing of police officers is searching for the suspects in the killing of two police officers in separate incidents on Monday. Lieutenant Colonel Renier Lourens Logois (51)‚ who was the Head of Support at Leote police station‚ was shot and killed at his home in Rietondale‚ Pretoria on Monday night. Fourteen used cartridges were found at the scene. His 1993 Toyota Corolla is missing.In another incident Constable Mbuyisela James Concoshi’s lifeless body was found at the back seat of his car along the road between Riebeeckstad and Thabong in Welkom‚ Free State province. The marks on his neck showed that he was strangled to death. He also had wounds on his head. Concoshi (34) was attached to Crime Prevention at Welkom police station.The National Head of the Hawks‚ Lieutenant General Mthandazo Ntlemeza‚ on Tuesday warned the perpetrators that they have now registered their names on the list of South Africa's most wanted suspects.“Killing a police officer is declaring war against the state. Killing a police officer is threatening the security of the country and we will never allow cold-blooded criminals to run riot in our country. We are hunting the suspects and we will find them. We are determined to remove them from the society and their days of tormenting our officers are numbered‚” Lieutenant General Ntlemeza said in a statement...
