Lenasia ‘rocks’ in anti-hijack campaign

Massive rocks placed on roads by criminals to target motorists were removed by a Johannesburg community on Sunday night.“Lenasia community members removed some 4 loads of rocks from overhead bridges along the N12 last night. #Attacks‚” Crime Stoppers International communications executive Yusuf Abramjee ‏@Abramjee tweeted on Monday.“Rocks are being thrown onto the N12 at night regularly & motorists robbed‚” he stated‚ sharing photos of the rocks that were removed.This was confirmed on a community platform.“Cars are being damaged and motorists are being hijacked and robbed by rocks being placed on N12W & N12E outside Lenasia‚” Khalil Mohamed‎ posted on the All Lenasian's Facebook page.He said that about 60 community members and Lenasia Block Watch members cleared the area of rocks‚ boulders and debris‚ from the stretch between the starting of the fence area up to just past the Samfur bridge on the two roads‚ as well as on top of the bridge.Thanking those involved‚ he shared: "You guyz *Rock" (*No pun intended)”...
