Cape Town Stadium might be a problem child but the city council is determined to keep its surroundings looking good.The mayoral committee agreed yesterday that Green Point Urban Park should be a provincial heritage site.The final decision lies with Heritage Western Cape.A report to the committee read that the park was part of the Green Point common, a heritage site that "tells a historically inclusive and unifying story of a city that was home to nomads, herders, sportspersons, soldiers, caregivers, convicts and slaves".Mayoral committee member for environmental and spatial planning Johan van der Merwe said heritage status would protect the site...
