Motorcyclist dies of injuries after shootout between police‚ alleged car thieves

The motorcyclist injured during a shootout at the corner of Johannesburg's William Nicol and Republic roads on Thursday‚ has died.

Police spokesperson Constable Stanley Bopape said the man died in hospital on Thursday night.He was injured during a shootout between four suspects and police. One suspect was shot dead‚ two others were critically injured and the fourth sustained moderate injuries. Another suspect fled the scene.“We are looking for him. We will soon make an arrest and he will join the other suspects in prison once they are released from the hospital‚” Bopape said.“We are going to add additional charges of culpable homicide.”The police had received information about a suspected stolen vehicle. They followed up on the information and chased the suspect thieves who then opened fire at the police.TMG Digital..
