Winner of R87.6 million Powerball still a no-show

Businessman John Mphosi and his employees are trying to track down a customer who spent R20 at one of his filling stations.The return on that investment? R87.6-million.Mphosi is the national lottery retailer who sold the winning Quick Pick ticket for last Friday's PowerBall game at Global Filling Station in Mokopane, Limpopo, less than two hours before the draw.He said the filling station has had to field a stream of phone calls and visits from people thinking they were the lucky winners."There is a lot of excitement around it. I have asked my employees if they remember who bought the winning ticket, but none of them did because it was such a busy day."We have even gone through CCTV footage, but it's difficult to point out exactly who bought the winning ticket from it."Friday's jackpot was Ithuba's biggest since taking over the operations of the national lottery from Gidani last year. The operator is now working with Mphosi to track down the winner.Counsellor Vaughn Grantham said winning a lump sum of money could be traumatic and encouraged jackpot winners to seek counselling...
