The Isivuthevuthe Business Forum – accused of disrupting a city construction project last month – remains restrained from interfering in construction work.

The matter came before the Durban High Court on Tuesday‚ with the forum and its directors ordered to pay the costs of the application.

The forum last month brought work on underground sewer lines to a halt when they stormed a site office in Mahatma Gandhi (Point) Road. The alleged occupation was part of their demands for a share of the subcontract work.

One man was allegedly attacked with a brick and some group members were said to have been brandishing firearms.

The application was brought by Icon Construction‚ which wanted the site protected.

Isivuthevuthe Business Forum mirrors the the Delangokubona Black Business forum‚ a similar outfit which disrupted a host of construction sites across the city‚ including the Suncoast Casino development‚ demanding a share in the labour contracts.
