Bank staff duped into handing over cash in slick robbery

Two men posing as SBV security officials walked into Nedbank in Klerksdorp on Wednesday saying they had arrived to pick up cash.

“The suspects who were apparently dressed in SBV security uniforms‚ entered the premises in the morning and allegedly produced what has now been established as false credentials to the staff‚” Hawks spokesman Captain Tlangelani Rikhotso said.

“They were reportedly handed the money and swiftly left the bank.”

The pair disappeared and are now being pursued by the Hawks.
