Sergio Ramos has come under fire on Twitter after a challenge on Mohamed Salah, which ended the Egyptian striker's UEFA Champions League final.

A petition to punish Real Madrid's Sergio Ramos for ‘intentionally hurting’ Liverpool's star player Mohamed Salah during the Champions League final has surged past 300,000 signatures by midday on Monday.

The campaign was started by Mohamed Salah Abdel-Hakeem on change.org, according to the Sun

“Sergio Ramos intentionally kept Mohamed Salah's arm under his armpit, causing dislocation of his shoulder," the petition reads.

“Sergio Ramos represents an awful example to future generations of football players. Instead of winning matches fairly, he uses tricks that defy the spirit of the game and fair play."

Real Madrid won their third successive Champions League title on Saturday night, and many Liverpool fans think Salah's injury was a crucial turning point in the game.
