Local celebrities rally for the rhino

Nelson Mandela Square's Save the Rhino campaign has some popular personalities rallying behind the cause.

Athletes, musicians and actors are lending their support, with rhino poaching at an alarmingly high rate.

The Sowetan reports that Afro-pop group Freshlyground and Olympic medallist Oscar Pistorius have designed rhino sculptures which were unveiled recently, while Scandal actors Ntathi Moshesh (Mo) and Sello Maake ka Ncube (Daniel) have also joined the cause.

Save the Rhino is run in conjunction with the Wildlands Conservation Trust, which is a non-profit organisation.
