Robert Fridjhon makes a turn in 'Funny Business'

Robert Fridjhon stars alongside Alan Committie in the comedy Funny Business

What is the show about?

Funny Business is about two idiots trying to manage the chaos in a hotel gone mad, as well as the arrival of unexpected guests.

What inspired the show?

The success of our last two farces, Boeing Boeing and Perfect Wedding.

Describe your role?

A nervous idiot who has booked a room for an illicit affair.

What is its appeal?

It is the third time Alan Committie and I have teamed up in a farce. It is great fun and a good laugh.

Tell us three things people don't know about you?

I've raised a lion. I'm an avid Blue Bulls fan. I'm related to the Duke of Atholl.

Your proudest moment on stage?

Being part of the Travels With My Aunt cast, and being in The Mousetrap with my beautiful, wonderful and talented fiancée Bronwyn Leigh Gottwald.

Your most embarrassing moment on stage?

Answering an on-stage phone thinking the stage manager had played the cue at the wrong moment only to find that it was an audience member's phone ringing.

What do you support?

Any wildlife conservation endeavour. I am donating a portion of my performance fee to the Drakenstein Lion Sanctuary.

What's the worst advice that you have been given?

Get a proper job.

What motto sums up your life?

Sh*t happens ...

What's your favourite smell?

A bushveld dawn.

What makes you cringe?

The adverts on Radio 702 ...

If you had to choose one mental illness, what would it be?

Really? Wow! No comedy there ... Maybe an illness that makes me forget ...

What's next?

Can't remember ...

  • 'Funny Business' is on at Pieter Toerien's Montecasino Theatre until April 29
