Celebrities express shock, grief about Pistorius shooting

Models and celebrities have started sending out messages of sympathy to the family of the deceased model Reeva Steenkamp, as well as to alleged shooter Oscar Pistorius and his family.

The 30-year-old FHM model was earlier identified as the woman who was shot by Olympian Blade Runner Oscar Pistorius at his home in Silver Woods Estate in Pretoria.

And by noon today Twitter had a trending topic of #RIPReeva, with many sending their messages to her family.

Miss South Africa 2004 Claudia Henkel wrote on her page: “One of the most beautiful girls I ever met, inside and out RIPReeva”.

Miss South Africa 2000 Jo-Ann Strauss wrote: “So sad for ReevaSteenkamp's family and for OscarPistorius.This highlights how unsafe most South Africans feel because of crime.RIPReeva”.

Zone 14 actress Pearl Thusi wrote: “Reeva speaking xhosa. The sweetest thing. RIPReeva”.

Actress Lee-Anne Summers said: “Shocked and shattered.. RIP Reevs, thanks for the great times, u will never be forgotten RIPReeva”.

TV personality Lall Hirayama said: “I'm in utter shock and disbelief! RIPREEVA”.
