Karlien van Jaarsveld posts heartfelt message about going through 'hell'

Despite going through a very public divorce, Afrikaans singer Karlien van Jaarsveld has remained mum on her emotions, only asking for privacy.

Now, for the first time, Karlien has given fans a glimpse into what she has been going through.

Karlien and Derick Hougaard announced their split last year, with their divorce being finalised in October.

They have two twin boys together and have maintained that their priority is their children.

Taking to her Instagram page, Karlien posted a message about a person who is still able to put on a good show, despite going through a hard time.

"She's been through more hell than you'll ever know, B U T that's what gives her beauty an edge. Y O U can't touch a W O M E N who can wear pain like the grandest of D I A M O N D S around her neck..."

When announcing the split on her Instagram page, prayer groups of support were set-up, with many of her fans urging her to reconsider and work on her marriage.
