In the spirit of Women's Month hip-hop star AKA has some words of wisdom for his male fans.

AKA came under fire over the weekend for questioning the silent rape protest by four women during Jacob Zuma's local government election results speech.

The rapper's comments caused widespread anger with hundreds of women taking aim at him. AKA was lambasted by social media users after he tweeted about there being some political motive behind the protest.

  •

AKA was labeled a "rape apologist and sexist" for the comments, but that did not deter him from voicing his opinion.

Despite the names people called him, on Women's Day AKA advised his male fans to do their best to treat women properly.

  •

"Until some master plan miraculously appears. Guys, just do the best you can. As brothers, partners, fathers, uncles ..... Please."

The rapper went on to question men about what they're going to do to make the country a better place.
