Adam Levine was the subject of a police investigation after being accused of hitting his wife, Behati Prinsloo, and his newborn daughter.

According to TMZ, the police paid Adam and his family a visit after receiving an anonymous tip-off last week, alleging that The Voice coach had hit four-week-old Dusty Rose in the face and struck his Victoria's Secret Angel wife so hard he knocked her to the ground.

However, the gossip site reported on Tuesday that the cops found the allegations were baseless and unfounded, and therefore closed the case.

Sources close to the Maroon 5 frontman told TMZ that Adam is grateful to the police for promptly deciding there were no merits to the claim. They believe it was simply a matter of Adam being targeted because of his fame.

Adam and Behati welcomed their daughter on September 22.

The couple wed in 2014 in Mexico, two years after going public with their relationship in 2012.
