Popular musician and radio host Unathi Msengana seems to have confirmed her departure from Metro FM, telling fans that her Friday morning show was her last at the station.

Unathi took to Instagram following her show on Friday to post an image of herself as a child next to the caption: "Well that was my last show on Metro! Thank you for your love over the past decade".

Speaking to TshisaLIVE on Friday, SABC spokesperson Kaizer Kganyago refused to confirm Unathi's departure, saying the matter would be addressed in a bigger press release in the next few days.

"We do not want to comment on an individual. We will make all announcements about our new line-up in the next few days," Kaizer said.

Fans have reacted with sadness to Unathi's post, with many wishing her well in her future endevours.

News of Unathi's departure comes more than a week after her former breakfast show co-host Glen Lewis announced his resignation after 22 years at the station.

The SABC would not comment on who will replace the pair on the show.

Attempts to reach Unathi were unsuccessful.
