Mandla Hlatshwayo's memorial service to be held on Thursday

A public memorial service in honour of slain Jozi FM presenter Mandla Hlatshwayo will be held at the Protea South Multi-Purpose Centre in Soweto on Thursday afternoon.

Jozi FM station manager Mpho Mhlongo told TshisaLIVE that the former Generations star's life will be celebrated at the service.

Mpho said the service will be begin at 4pm on Thursday.

It had not been confirmed if the memorial service would be a joint one also in honour of the other man, known as Chom Chom who was also killed in the shooting.

Those close to Mandla and Chom Chom are also expected to hold a prayer service outside Meli's pub where they were killed on Tuesday night.

Following the fatal shooting on Sunday night police confirmed that four suspects had been nabbed in connection with the murder. 

"The suspects were found in possession of one firearm and drugs. They are believed to be linked to the murder of two people at a tavern in Soweto," said Police Commissioner Khomotso Phahlane.
