Despite the drama between HHP's wife Lerato Sengadi and his family - plans by the North West government to honour him with a civic funeral are on track.

Premier Job Mokgoro’s spokesman Vuyisile Ngesi revealed at a memorial service in HHP's honour in Mahikeng on Thursday that the star will be buried at Heroes Acre at the Mmabatho cemetery.

Vuyisile said that as part of the civic funeral HHP's casket will be taken through the streets of Mahikeng on Friday at 3pm.

The Bosso hitmaker will be transported in an official procession by traffic officers and firefighters to his home in Unit 5 in Mmabatho.

"They will be accompanied by the mayor of the district municipality Justice Makolomakwa as well as the mayor of Mahikeng local municipality Betty Diakanyo," Vuyisile.

The same will be done on Saturday morning from HHP's home to the Mmabatho Convention Centre where his funeral is expected to take place.

Local government MECS and chiefs are expected to attend the funeral.

Lerato made headlines on Thursday after it emerged that she filed an urgent court application for an interdict to have the funeral halted.

In court papers Lerato claimed HHP's father Robert Tsambo apparently excluded her from all arrangements, barred her from the funeral and has refused to let her see the late hip-hop star's body.

"As Jabba's lawful customary wife, it is my right to make the necessary funeral arrangements for his burial and to play an integral part in all of the actions and proceedings in relation thereto.

"I have been deprived of this right. I have simply and without cause been prevented by the respondent from fulfilling my role as customary wife," eNCA reported.

The matter is set to be heard at the South Gauteng High Court at 10am on Friday morning.

During a memorial service in Johannesburg on Tuesday, Lerato gave a powerful speech in which she promised to protect HHP's legacy.

"I will continue to be strong for you now and protect your legacy like I did when you were alive. There will still be so much said but I will take those lashings with the strength and grace of the warrior queen you chose to share your life with."

Late hip-hop star HHP’s partner and well-known publicist Lerato Sengadi struggled to fight back tears at his memorial held on October 30 2018 in Johannesburg in celebration of his life and career.
