Actor SK Khoza had a very eventful 2022. Most of the headlines he hogged weren't positive, but he's vowed to do better come 2023 and beyond and he made a public promise to his new bae.

Taking to Instagram, SK poured his heart out about the rollercoaster that has been his life this year. Acknowledging he was the talk of town and not always due to good news, the actor said he was grateful for the people who stayed in his corner.

“Where or how to even begin to describe, explain or break down what happened, since whatever happens to md affects people in my family. Family that doesn’t respond to noise. We silently turn to our higher power and our ancestors for help, guidance and answers.

“It’s not easy to become a person who understands that one has to grasp 'listen to understand rather than listening to respond'. But  to summarise it, we all know and I'm content with knowing I will never be perfect. I am aware most people don’t care enough to know everything about certain things but it’s easy to comment and judge, have perceptions about how I am, based on what’s said on social media platforms. Abantu don’t know that I am blessed to have so many important individuals who are in my corner at all times no matter what is happening,” he wrote.

Putting context to the pictures that accompanied the lengthy letter, SK gave a shoutout to his supportive partner, known on social media as Choice Mthembu, thanking her for sticking by him.

“One day people will hear the whole insane story. You have also endured so much suffering, heartache and scrutinising just for being a part of my life. Yet somehow you are still around and there for me even when you are thousands of miles away. Uyimbhokodo Muntu wesMame, izandla emoyeni.”

He noted he has a lot to fix and make amends for, but said his ancestral and spiritual journey will help him get over everything.

“There is still so much I need to fix, make amends and profusely apologise and plead and beg for forgiveness. But with this ancestral and spiritual journey t I am on, I strongly believe I will. Living in fear is tough enough, having sleepless nights, nightmares, and waking up every day wondering what’s going to be trending about me is hella heavy.

“Ngyabonga for iSibusiso isiAmari ('promised by God') Sethu as we proceed to try our very best and hardest to make the right, best decisions possible for our lives. We are not miracle workers, we can never ever do anything on our own terms. So thank you for even going out of your way to help me see exactly who is responsible. I will forever be grateful and thankful forever, Kea leboga Mma/MmeMathebula. Our families both know what a handful I am, but knowing that no matter what you always have my back is priceless,” he concluded.
