Emtee has warned booking agents and his followers against a man pretending to be his manager.

The rapper recently took to his Twitter timeline to reveal his former driver had been pretending to be his manager.

"There's a gentleman by the name of Thabang or Thabani going around claiming to be my manager. He was just a driver and I am no longer working with him. So please do not give him money or bookings," he wrote.

Many artists have had to clear the air on their timeslines after being exploited by people claiming to be affiliated to them.

Last year, Lady Du fell victim to a similar scam.

The amapiano sensation took to Instagram to reveal she stopped getting booked because of her manager, whom she did not name, taking money from promoters behind her back.

“It’s sad that at times we have to smile, but we are broken beings. We have to give hugs to people when we need them ourselves. I’d like to thank you guys personally for being my strength. I’d like to tell you how important you all are to me.

"It is because of you that I could continue and not give up. I was not aware of what was happening, I thought I was losing my fire when someone decided to have a say in my life,” she wrote.

Lady Du decided to spill all the beans about the saga on social media so upcoming artists could learn from her experience.

“I’ve tried my best to keep it in and not say anything, but I thought 'nah, people go through so much in this industry, these new age amapiano kids need a person who will be transparent so they see the industry isn’t as easy as it looks'.”
