While Toss might have been dubbed one of the kings of dance in Mzansi, he's ready to spread his wings and occupy new territory as the ambassador of Cassper Nyovest's Billiato.

The announcement of Toss's ambassadorship saw half-naked promotion pictures of the musician in a bath, inspired by Tupac's iconic image by American photographer David LaChapelle.

This saw the snaps go viral on social media with many crying plagiarism by Cassper and his team.

“I saw people say it looks gay or that I should have shaved, or that we are stealing 2Pac's idea but its all inspiration. I don't care about hate, it doesn't faze me. I can only entertain love,” Toss told TshisaLIVE.

Cassper echoed the same words, saying as the “marketing guy” picking Toss was perfect for his brand.

“There's nothing new under the sun. We all draw inspiration from somewhere. Do people think we would a shoot and hope that they don't know its from 2Pac. I was worried about so many other things ... but they were looking at that it's that I copied or whatever I was cool with that angle. We are not trying to hide that we were inspired by David LaChapele,” he said.

For Toss, real name Pholoso Masombuka, being affiliated with Cassper in any way is a dream come true, so working with the rapper in such a capacity is the cherry on top.

“I always knew Cassper and I were going to meet, that we would speak but I never knew it would happen like this ... for a person I looked up to for years as coming from the hood just as he is. He's a father figure or brother in the industry that's always trying to see me shine.”

Cassper says he's prepared the uMlando star for times like this.

They've made music together and are cooking up their next hit song with amapiano producer and DJ Kabza De Small, while Billiato is set to sponsor his next music video.

This year, Toss says he's got a lot in store for his fans as they'll witness the journey of an evolved artist.

“People can expect more music that's heartfelt. I've done bangers, another thing that I am realising in this country is that you cannot keep dropping challenges, I've done that already and nobody can deny that, I've done it more than once and it hit. Right now its all about growing and getting into other ventures because I am a musician at the end of the day.”
