As Showmax's The Wife gears to wrap up its third and final season, Mbalenhle Mavimbela.

Mbalenhle played a lead character on the show, Hlomu since the first season which was her breakout role.

As she wrapped up her scenes for the final season the actress received a heart-warming farewell from the cast and crew who handed her a bouquet of flowers with other gifts.

Reflecting on her journey on the show, Mbalenhle took to her Instagram timelin0e expressing her gratitude to those who supported her throughout her journey on the show, speaking of the women she had become.

“It’s a picture wrap for uMahlomu. I walked into this production a young lady and left as a wise woman. Thank you to everyone who has supported me and has been a part of my journey from the very beginning.

“A huge thank you to Showmax, Stained Glass TV, and DStv for this amazing opportunity. Lastly, a special thank you to the 5am gang for sticking with me through all the seasons,” she wrote.

Today, Mbalenhle owns her own brand of wine called Moments and has a production company.

In a statement shared with TshisaLIVE, Showmax confirmed one of Mzansi's favourite drama series was coming to an end.

Supervising producer from Stained Glass, Siphiwe Hlabangane spoke of what people can expect in the coming episodes before the finale on April 6.

“Filming on the final season of The Wife is coming to an end, with cast starting to wrap. The show is on a brief broadcast break, but we're in post-production on 18 more episodes. These will release on Thursdays from 2 March and will answer all your questions before Season 3 ends on 6 April 2023, like how Mqhele and Hlomu's toxic love story will end and whether Qhaledi will reunite and live happily ever after, despite their families' rivalry.” said.
