'I trust my woman' — DJ Tira slams infidelity claims

DJ Tira has rubbished claims of infidelity in his marriage.

This after a blogger alleged that Tira's wife, Gugu Khathi was cheating on her husband with former Kwela Tebza member Tebogo Lerole while in Eastern Cape for work recently .

GBV activist Slindile Khumalo who was present at a SUV Challenge event alleged she witnessed Gugu visit Tebogo.

“I've got receipts and conversations that I am going to use for myself in court. I don't have to justify myself.”

Speaking to TshisaLIVE, Tira said he was unbothered by the claims because he knows his wife.

“I trust my woman, I don't pay attention to nonsense,” he said.

Tebogo said the allegations were baseless and false.

“We dismissed Slindile because of her ill behaviour, she does not represent the ethos of the foundation. Through that she decided to be angry and get back at me. She wrote the messages saying she will get back at me, and claimed that Gugu and I are having an affair.

"I'm not bothered with that. I think Gugu knows the truth, her team knows the truth and I think even the husband knows the truth. I have known Gugu since I was 15-years-old,” Tebogo said.

“This is someone trying to tarnish my name or the foundations name. We tried to keep her at the foundation and hoped she would take counselling and heal but this is the response we are getting from her.”

Slindile denied Tebogo's claims.

“Tebogo said he fired me, I don't know where he fired me from because I don't work for him, that is news to me. Tebogo is not my boss and I never received a message saying that I have been let go anywhere.”

Attempts by TshisaLIVE to get comment from Gugu were unsuccessful at the time of publishing this article. An update will be included once received.

Last August, Gugu laughed off rumours she and Tira, real name Mthokozisi Khathi, were getting a divorce after cheating rumours started circulating.

The couple, who dated for 18 years, have been married for nearly a decade.

The former Mafikizolo dancer-turned-businesswoman previously set the record straight with TshisaLIVE, saying her arriving late at the Samas could have stirred the pot, but she and her husband were still going strong. 

“We are still fine, we are still happy. I don't know where they'd get that from. Maybe it was because I was late to the Samas. There is nothing there. I don't think we have issues that could be putting us in a situation where we're even considering [divorce]. So, no.” she said.

“I don't know what they thought they saw, but I bet it was because I was late at the Samas and someone spotted something.”
