Uncle Waffles is set to release another album.
Taking to her Instagram timeline, she announced her third offering, An Asylum of Solace, will debut on August 11.
“This project is a curated musical version of my journey, feelings that can only be shared through music, coming into almost two years since my life completely changed. The first part of this project, Asylum, was a representation of the chaos in my mind trying to grasp, learn and run within this. How I’d feel like I was drowning some days but had to soldier on, the reality of going headfirst into such a beautiful industry. The reality of the feelings that would make me feel like I was in an asylum, now we have part two, Solace.”
The DJ gained fame after a video of her dancing to Young Stunna's Adiwele went viral in 2021. Since then, Uncle Waffles has been basking in success, performing at the Met Gala after party and Coachella.
She said Solace was a symbol of the grace that accompanied her and brought her a great deal of joy and calm.
“It represents an unexplainable feeling of gratitude that this journey chose me. With a few samples, also shows how I’ve been musically inspired over the years and how it can all still tie in together.”
After the launch of her debut album Red Dragon in early 2022, which became one of the most streamed albums on Apple Music locally, the DJ announced her second project Asylum earlier this year.
“One year ago, I released my debut project, unlocking a part of me I never knew existed, vulnerability I never knew I could feel. A year later, I’m doing it again. Welcome to the Asylum,” she announced on her social media timeline.
