Lebohang “Lebo M” Morake's estranged wife Pretty Samuels has apparently been given 48 hours to return the composer's car after his claim that he filed for divorce.

Soon after Lebo M announced his impending divorce to a seemingly oblivious Pretty, reports emerged stating the couple's families were planning to meet to help mend their marriage.

Lebo M's spokesperson Baleseng More, however, confirmed to TshisaLIVE that Lebo M had no intention of mending anything.

“Mr Morake doesn't want anything to do with the marriage. She doesn't have access to their marital home. There's nothing she has access to that belongs to Mr M,” she said.

Lebo M’s attorney Brian Msimeki also confirmed that while they had issued summons, the sheriff's office was yet to deliver them to Pretty.

Pretty confirmed to TshisaLIVE she was yet to be served summons. She added she had no knowledge of the “latest” demand to return Lebo M's car.

LISTEN TO PRETTY BELOW:

“I am a wife, we have cars. I was in a car accident about three weeks ago in the other car I drive, so I am driving the other Mercedes-Benz. I know as a wife I've got rights and I haven't received any summons or anything to return the car. I'm not sure why such things are going to the papers. My phone is always on.”

The estranged wife is at her mother's house in KwaZulu-Natal to arrange a family meeting “to state concerns they [Lebo's family] may have” after the Morake family paid lobola for her in 2021.

“The Samuels family has met and my elders have been reaching out to Morake's. Those are the protocols that need to happen. The families have not met, so I am still home. I stayed a bit just to wait until the date has been taken out by my elders and uncles to the Morake family. It seems there is resistance from the Morake family to meet my uncles.”

Pretty, who claimed to have been in communication with Lebo M this week, said she had no intention of parting ways with her husband and when she returns to Johannesburg she will go to her marital home.

“My family has made it clear that they are here to build a family, not to destroy it. I am still a wife and I did not get married to be divorced. The first thing my family asked was what I wanted to do besides the noise out there and I said I am here to stay in my marriage and to build my marriage. Marriages have different problems depending on who you're married [to] and I'm here to fight for my marriage.

“I am not here to dissolve my marriage. That's where I stand. I haven't received summons and also, receiving summons doesn't mean there will be a divorce.”

Meanwhile, Lebo M said he wanted to focus on the opportunities set for him in his next chapter.

“I need peace of mind because 2024 is a big year for me, with exciting projects lined up. More details about the big year ahead for me will be revealed,” he said.

Lebo M Productions earlier this month said the matter that led to the breakdown of their marriage involved fraud allegations linked to Lebo M's electronic signature and alleged life policies.

Lebo M requested an affidavit from Pretty wherein she would state under oath she has not taken out policies Lebo M is unaware of that would be effected upon his death.

Responding, Pretty told TshisaLIVE the only policy she has had her son as beneficiary.

“I'm taking advice on how to approach this because I'm a very private person and I don't like fighting through the media. If there was anything fraudulent I'm sure there would have been a warrant of arrest. We share the same financial adviser. He could have just asked her to check.”
