Leanne Manas is beaming with pride after receiving the Social Impact award by the Charlotte Mannya-Maxeke Institute.

The NGO aims to uplift and empower women as well as shed light on contributions made towards the cause.

The seasoned broadcaster took to her timeline penning a lengthy note of gratitude. She shared what the recognition meant to her and co-host Sakina Kamwendo, who took home the same award.

"What an absolute honour to be recognised by the Charlotte Mannya-Maxeke Institute by receiving the Social Impact award. The award recognises my many years of public service and broadcast professionalism and having an immense impact on the lives of South Africans.

"The most amazing part is that my co-host Sakina Kamwendo was honoured with the same award. Another sign that as women if we work together, we are such a formidable force that can literally and figuratively change the world! Charlotte Mannya-Maxeke Institute, sorry I could not be there but this award is so appreciated!" she wrote.

Sakina also took to her timeline thanking her followers for the achievement.

"Thank you for your unwavering support and encouragement which has led to this incredible achievement. Thank you for believing in me and being a part of my journey. I am deeply grateful."
