From securing the bag to performing on stage: Kairo moments that warmed hearts

Kairo Forbes has become one of Mzansi's favourite celebrity kids.

The eight-year-old is the daughter of DJ Zinhle and late rapper Kiernan "AKA" Forbes.

From being a social media influencer to performing on stage, Kairo, with more than 1.4-million Instagram followers, is set to surpass her parents' fan bases.

Here's a look at all the moments in which Kairo warmed Mzansi hearts:

Galaxy 947 Joburg Day 

K.O, Khuli Chana, Yanga Chief, Thato Saul, Da L.E.S, Nadia Nakai, and The Mega Band performed a tribute to AKA.

During the event, the late rapper's father, Tony Forbes, mother Lynn and business partner Raphael Benza jumped on stage to support Kairo when she sang her father’s song, Company, leaving those in the crowd in tears as they cheered for her. 

Kairo sings Lemons (Lemonade) at the MMA's

Tony, Lynn, Kairo and Benza accepted accolades on AKA's behalf at the Metro FM Music Awards 2023.

When the rapper won the Best Collaboration Song Award, Lynn handed the microphone to Kairo, who led the crowd in singing her father's hit song Lemons (Lemonade), featuring Nasty C.

Tribute to her dad

AKA was shot dead outside a Durban restaurant on February 10. The incident is still being investigated.

After he died, Kairo paid tribute to him in a video in which she expressed her love for him.

"He was a good dad and I love him," she said.

Securing the bag

Kairo is carving a path in the entertainment industry as a social media influencer. 

Apart from having a jewellery line under her mother's Era By DJ Zinhle brand, she's worked with many renowned companies and her recent Nedbank advertisement, which features Zinhle, had her followers swooning over her charisma.

Smart kid 

When joining her mother for an interview on 947's Drive with Thando Thabethe, Kairo demonstrated how smart she is when playing the "Can't Beat" game.
