Lira's journey of recovering from her stroke has been nothing short of inspirational and since she found her voice again she has been openly sharing her gratitude.

She took to her Instagram timeline recently to share a clip she recorded.

“Here’s what being fearless means to me @1stforWomen #Fearless. When I got my voice back I knew I could do anything and I knew with persistence I can achieve anything,” she said.

In her mentions, some followers shared how her story was inspiring their family members.

“You look like a lioness, so golden. I love how you speak now and your story. I love every word you use. It is so deep for me, brings tears to my eyes. When morning came I accepted my situation. I love your strength, your soul is a beast, with so much grace. You are doing so well, sisi. I am proud and inspired. Seeing God in you, seeing myself in you,” wrote one.

“My mother suffered a stroke a month ago and she told me she is finding strength through your story,” said another.

Lira received a standing ovation at the annual RMB Starlight Classics when she took to the stage to perform Miriam Makeba's hit song Ntjilo Ntjilo with singers Sunnyboy Dladla and Masabane Rangwanasha after being spotted by the host of the evening Katlego Maboe.

“This was surreal. I was keen to try. I did it. I had the awesome voices of Sunnyboy Dladla and Masabane Rangwanasha who supported me. There’s still a long way to go before I can sing on my own, let alone sing at a full concert, but this a positive step in my recovery. I’ve been singing to loosen my tongue. It has helped [me] speak better and I do it as part of my recovery,” she wrote.
