Palesa 'Pale' Motanyane was “excited” when she became the fourth contestant to be evicted from the Big Brother Mzansi competition as she can now focus on motherhood and growing her business.

“I was excited. I think I was missing a lot from my normal life. I missed my loved ones, my daughter, my mom, my grandmother, my friends. I just missed being in my own space and I had mentally checked out as a result, and in the same breath I wasn't going to do the voluntary exiting,” she told TshisaLIVE.

“Being home has been great. I actually needed to be home, and the feeling that I am getting is exactly what I was looking forward to when I was in the house. I am with people who know and love me. People who comfort me and know the real Pale.”

Pale said her exit happened at the right time as she achieved exactly what she wanted and found the overall experience on the show enjoyable.

“I entered the competition because I wanted to try something new and different. I wanted to get myself out of my comfort zone. And I just wanted to explore other things. There are so many things that I claim to know about myself or just think that I am content with certain things so that experience cemented the things that I have been confident about. It taught me things about myself that I was not aware of. It was also to inspire people, especially my daughter.”

Pale says the perception of her eating habits was false, even though she made fun of it and took screenshots or snippets from those moments. But she says she now wants to turn lemons into lemonade.

“My plans are to grow from where I currently am. Since there was this narrative about me loving food in the house and overeating, I decided I'm going to venture into the culinary space and actually make money out of it and serve people good food.”

The 30-year-old business development manager from Soweto has been home for a week and homing in on her PM Celebrations company and plans to get into broadcasting as well.

“I look forward to growing that baby. and I would like to break into broadcasting, be it radio, TV ... just the entertainment space. I would love to be a speaker and MC as well.”
