WATCH | A look inside Musa Mthombeni's surprise graduation party

Liesl Laurie-Mthombeni is beaming with pride after her husband Musa's graduation.

The Miss SA 2015 hosted his close family and friends for a surprise celebration recently to mark the occasion.

Clement Maosa, Rorisang Thendekiso, Andile Ncube and Kabelo Moremi were some of the stars who attended the black-tie-themed event.

Reflecting on the celebration, Musa took to his timeline expressing his gratitude to his wife for pulling out all the stops to make his graduation special.

“Liesl somehow managed to organise these people to come to say 'we love you Big Daddy' on a random Tuesday night. What a spectacular surprise it was! To the best wife in the world. Thank you, Liesl. To all these idiots, well done, and congratulations on having me as a friend. Where would you be without me?

“You would be nothing without me. You would have been at your homes sitting in load-shedding darkness. Now look at you! In the streets of Tempo Luxury drinking expensive Moet champagne. Must be nice to be you guys! I love you guys!”

In June 2023, Mthombeni celebrated becoming a specialist in radiology.

He took to his timeline sharing images from a dinner party with his fellow radiology students marking the occasion.

“Last night was a celebration of success with my little radiology family. College exams are probably what hell feels [like]. I hate education and this series of exams reminded me how much. Anyway, we succeeded by fire or by force and here we are. The Wits 2023 first semester radiology class,” he posted on Instagram.

“All the studying (and you know I hated every minute of it) has paid off. Liesl’s man is a specialist which means Liesl is now also a specialist — what a spectacular woman she is. My enemies must contact Avbob today! Right now! Update your details because I’m going to be insufferable for at least the next 18 months. If you thought I was a problem before — hahaha, you’re not going to hear the end of it now!” he teased.
