Readers have their say on the banned DA advert, which criticises the Zuma administration.

The reason the DA ad is such a game changer its because its the beginning of retail politics in South Africa, holding leaders specifically accountable for their leadership, not hiding behind a collective party brand and history.

If and as we can hold political office holders directly accountable for their results, our votes begin to mean something.

We aren't voting for a national identity but rather what the actual officeholder was able to deliver during his time in office, from the local ward to the mayor and provinces.

This is what the ANC objected to, and why the ad is so powerful.

Zuma has damaged the ANC brand massively and he's now being held to that account, for the corruption, lack of delivery and arrogance, personally, because he made it personal through the malfeasance and personal gain.

Well done, Maimane, and well done South Africa. - Adelaide Steedley

My opinion regarding the DA advert: It is so honest and well put, I think it even scares the ANC. - Jòvan Pienaar

The SABC is confirming that it is the Government's puppet.  This kind of censorship reeks of apartheid days. - Sherebanu Kajee

Thank you first of all for offering the opportunity for people to view the DA advertisement which was censored earlier by the state broadcaster.

The advertisement itself is very powerful, to the point and truthful in its presentation.

By refusing the airing of this ad, the SABC has finally shown what we have known all along: that it is currently as much of a state-controlled propaganda machine as it was during the years of National Party rule.

Twenty years ago, South Africa liberated itself from a suppressive and corrupt regime. The time has now come for us to do so again. - A. Bogaers

The SABC, Jacob Zuma and the ANC should be ashamed of themselves.

I don't see anything inciteful about this advert, unless the truth is inciteful.

This advert should instil confidence in the urgency of the change we need.

It is election time again, and now the ANC promises bigger and better (for their elite) until the next time round.

This election is a real chance for real change and better for our country. South Africans, don't waste this opportunity to kick out the users. - Pamela Van Der Merwe
