Cezanne Visser, or advocate Barbie, as she is widely known, is to be released on parole on Monday.

The correctional services department said the parole board had approved her release from Monday, the Sunday Times reported.

She is serving a seven-year jail term for indecent assault and for manufacturing and possessing child pornography.

She was also found guilty of defrauding a children's home.

Deputy commissioner James Smalberger told the paper Visser's parole fell under the maximum category, with strict conditions that would be formalised on Monday.

"Visser, as with all other offenders in the same category, had to serve half of her sentence, whereafter she qualified for to be considered for placement on parole," he was quoted.

Smalberger told the paper that the department would not hesitate to place her back in custody should she violate her parole conditions.
