There is a solution to "Shock burial plans for SA" (yesterday). Learn how densely populated countries such as Germany handle this problem.

There, one has to buy a "plot" either for a single grave or for more than one person for a period of 25 years.

One is also responsible for keeping the grave in order according to regulations.

If it is neglected, the graveyard gardener will take over and forward an account.

Except for a headstone, no elaborate decorations are allowed.

After 25 years one can buy the "plot" again, or the headstone is removed and the grave reused. It is possible that, for instance, children bury the parents on top of the grandparents.

Cemeteries handled in this way are clean and serene.

Also, more and more people opt for cremation for financial and practical reasons.

Families very seldom live generation after generation in the same place in the modern world, which makes it difficult to keep a grave in order.
