Court to hear case of man ordered to pay R75,000 to lover's ex-husband

The Supreme Court of Appeal in Bloemfontein will hear arguments on Wednesday in a case where a man was ordered to pay R75,000 in damages to his lover's ex-husband.

The court will hear arguments about whether the right to claim damages for adultery is still relevant in modern society.

The North Gauteng High Court in January granted the ex-husband the damages because it found the other man was responsible for leading the woman astray.
