A 26-year-old man who stole a piece of the wrecked Porsche Carrera GT in which Fast and Furious actor Paul Walker was killed has been jailed for six months.

Bang Showbiz reports that Anthony Janow admitted to stealing the ruined sports car's roof panel after the fatal crash on November 30 that killed Walker, 40. The star's friend, Roger Rodas, lost control of the Porsche in Clarita, California, causing the car to plough into a pole and a tree and burst into flames. Rodas was also killed.

In August, Janow entered a no contest plea to felony grand theft and misdemeanour counts of destroying evidence, as well as obstructing a police officer.

His accomplice, Jameson Brooks Witty, 19, was also jailed for six months on August 14.

According to Bang Showbiz, Witty posted a picture of the red roof panel from the wreck on Twitter, boasting: ''Piece of Paul Walker's car, took it off a tow truck at a stop light.''
